My First Blog Post

Self Expression” by customising garments

Wait a minute…. ZARA are you stealing the concept of another brand? Is this #brandsbehavingbadly a possible pending lawsuit -> trademark infringement breach?! That’s yet to be challenged but as it stands “I think not” because customizing garments isn’t anything new to be honest —> the way in which it is done could lead to a trademark battlefield.. And this is where I come in -> I do tend too write about the legal aspects of intellectual property so get strapped in for my daily drops on who’s “misbehaving” in the Fashion Brands never ending “I did it first you copycats” war of words battles {my main focus point of view}.. Back to the NOW —> has this not already been done by Virgil? the creative master mind of the brand Off___White who happens to be the new let’s say he’s sitting comfortably in the role of Artistic Director at the helm of Louis Vuitton Menswear.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Off___ White let me throw some strobe {light} for you. Brand launched in 2018 from its base in Milan; Created collections for Male & Female -> known to be unisex as women are wearing mens items too {I do} Brand derived from the middle row of luxury —> meaning posh streetwear {I just made that up} Virgil states the obvious by using words to highlight each piece of fashion-wear and its use: for instance on all garments, footwear, and accessories —> hints or reminders however you wish to let your imaginations run wild the concept is pure and transparent and reflects his vision.

Can you tell how much I adore Virgil, and yes his movement of minds is on my radar too becoming part of his dream team {one day soon}..

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

NIKE is suing MSCHF for selling rapper Lil Nas X “unauthorized Satan Shoes”

each pair has a drop of human blood 🩸

MSCHF are they that Mischievous?

“Satan Shoes” were dropped last week by a (brave AF) team from Brooklyn, and yes they are designers (no names ~> yet) but nobody seems to care about who these badaSSes are (it doesn’t really matter) “yet”. We do know that MCHF are a collective of creators who sell meme like products in drop-style launches. Without any known shared narrative between them and Nike, (referencing a collaboration) no words were exchanged prior to the drop of the sneaker collaboration with Lil Nas X.

⚜️

only 666 pairs made

Outraged Nike filed a copyright infringement lawsuit and tried to shutdown the critics of the Satan Shoes sending a powerful message to all that Nike was not involved in this creation. The sneakers were created “without Nike’s approval or authorization, and Nike is in no way connected to this project,” the company noted in its lawsuit. In the filing, the company pointed to social media critics and noted some people claimed they would never buy Nike products.

⚜️

Swoosh damage

Nike claims they have caused harm and damage to its reputation, and online keyboard warriors are inflamed with Nike followers expressing their thoughts, with some who are even questioning whether Nike is endorsing satanism.

⚜️

MSCHF & NASX

This is going to unfold as easy as a napkin because Nike’s legal team have already expressed how they feel by flexing with a fierce swift shutdown approach and demanded the “freeze” on the sneaker sale. Furthermore, they have taken the structure, design, the identical style of the Air Max 97s and MSCHF have gone ahead with customized designs without Nike’s involvement, attaching a bronze pentagram at the laces, adding red embroidery, and injecting ink and “1 drop human blood” into the sneaker’s sole, according to MSCHF’s website, which put 666 pairs up for sale at $1,018 each.

Satan Soles & matching box

Lawsuit filed & NIKE is winning

It’s asking for the shoes to be destroyed and for MSCHF to pay financial damages. The latest update is that NIKE have won a temporary restraining order preventing MSCHF from fulfilling any orders for the Satan Sneaker including use of the Swoosh or mark that is similar to Nike’s. Additionally preventing any form of connection to Nike’s branding referring to or using in promotions, marketing and advertising—-> including the assisting of others.

Let’s keep an eye on this “brands behaving badly” episode and the savage shots being fired by both brands.

Beyoncé IVY~Park collection is insane

B is not playing

Size is not an issue

⚜️

Curves are Sexy

⚜️

Size does matter because the human body has never come in just one size or shape, yet for hundreds of years there has always been this weird concept that everyone is a stick insect. Look around you and it is impossible to find one body shape walking around this planet, yet the hunger from customers to the clothing brands screams “please cater for us all”. Yet the failed responses by some brands is deafening. They just have not absorbed or even tried to transform their collections to offer everyone an opportunity to shop and feel catered for. Wishing in hope and anticipation that all brands will create collections/pieces for all sizes without serving lame executed that cost of fabrics will increase garment prices being made in larger sizes. When a pair of shoes or sneakers cost the same no matter what the size is!! I rest my case on this now and can we see garments being made from the design studios to the clothes rails in all shapes/sizes “please”.

⚜️

Ivy Park & Adidas

⚜️

GENDER awareness

Beyoncé has really hit the mark by offering clothing in her range for all genders. The styles and colours are popping and I imagine the attraction will be wide too because the objective is too feed all needs—>touch of brilliance to be honest. People just want to be recognised and catered for without all the confusion. After all what is there to be confused about !!

“wearing the same bottoms” no gender gaps

⚜️

Vibes

Must add that the prices are pleasure to the plastic—>affordable.. I wild guess that the fabric and quality will be high grade because Queen B will not be playing with our planet or our skin.

Sneaking around at Sotheby’s

⚜️

Estimated to fetch between $30-40k that’s USD but let’s be real this could get out of control with some serious bids and could cause a “sneaker head bidding war”.

What more can I say “take a bow Virgil”

why has “FENTY” Rihanna’s clothing range ended?

goodbye FENTY clothing, shoes & accessories

what happened?

Making a powerful decision to “put on hold” Fenty clothing is probably an astonishing blow to Rihanna. I am guessing that LVMH are also shocked but clearly jointly they have concluded that it is the right way to go. Rihanna has not made any comments to date.

⚜️

LVMH and Rihanna remain focused on their joint ambition to grow and development of an ecosystem for Fenty driving the cosmetics, skincare, and Savage X lingerie areas of the brand.

⚜️

FENTY Beauty

Rihanna delivered the fiercest range of foundations that feeds every skin shade.. Personally I was on this and matched myself online and the last few years I’ve been using with a mix of my tinted moisturiser from another brand I worked for. I have to say the coverage is insane and yes it dries quickly but applying is a dream. The colour swatch was simple and on~point and it lasts forever and since I have not actually been going out (like the masses) I still put a face~on when I need that feel good “lift” so yes I recommend this babe for all makeup bags and beauty rooms.. Finally found my shade and the Fenty lip glosses are insanely fabulous and yes they do exactly what she says they do.. looking at the skincare cleansers, toners and exfoliation is a must, interested in test running the collection.

Fierce Fenty Foundation

Then came the lingerie…. She changed and raised the GAME and the only word I can find to define the concept is “SAVAGE” please excuse the pun.

⚜️

Savage X Fenty

⚜️

Launched in 2018 Rihanna has stormed the lingerie industry with a celebration of individuality in a fearless by savage way, she de the brand name Savage X Fenty (what a sexy~slay) addressing the approach to size means nothing “we are all beautiful”.

Savage X Fenty

⚜️

Let’s not forget the strategy to increase and expand on the customer base by rewarding and offering exclusivity to VIP members: access to new product launches before anyone else and of course VIP discounts (what a touch). Growth is key and the base has grown by over 150 percent, with goals of expanding into customer acquisition “check~it~out” who wouldn’t want a slice of this sexy investment.

“Karen Millen”drops a tear & it made a sound “Boohoo”

High Street Royalty ~ Karen Millen Photo shout: Times

⚜️

Story goes….

She started her journey into fashion by selling clothes to her friends, which clearly became a success by the increase in demand and word of mouth (sound familiar~I do this now but from the “Worn Only Once+” perspective) she wanted to bring her creative energy to everyone.

⚜️

I can only guess that is what ignited the flame from within her to ask a bank for a loan of a £100. It’s how it all started for Karen Millen and not surprised by her presence in the fashion industry was truly magnificent because she gave us great tailoring, fabrics, styles and at affordable prices.

⚜️

KM online collection ~ suits & dresses

⚜️

We could all afford an outfit from Millen whether it be a killer trouser or skirt suit for the office, or a dress for a night out bar wiggles (not crawls can’t stand that word) even a soirée. And of course weddings were donned with women in Millen dresses and her footwear Collections are truly stunning. What always attracted me was the prices I would say her garments are on the cusp of high end designer but so affordable — I mean I would eat noodles that month for an outfit from Millen. For the record I feel no shame in saying that I would literally take noodles to another level (giggles).

⚜️

⚜️

Without a doubt 2020 has hit the high street with a savage blow and the suffering has been painful to witness. We have all witnessed too many brands and Fashion Houses fall victim during these unprecedented times, and survival seems to only fit the Primarks of the industry for they have no online presence and clearly that works for them for now.

⚜️

the Buyer ~ Boohoo

However, with Karen Millen surviving it has clearly been a strain even though the brand has not directly put that out and maybe they won’t. It is totally different from the voiced opinion of KM ~ she has not held back on her own feelings of the onslaught from online fast fashion brands takeover. Which she says is distasteful (take a bow) and vile, and I could not agree with her more. What is questionable is why sell your creation to a fast fashion house? Contradicting or Clever? Leave me your thoughts as a comment I’d be intrigued to know how you yes you reading my micro~blog feels about this move? I think her financial advisor made the call and the highest offer was the leader by the looks of it—only my opinion.

⚜️

I personally feel that the levels of wrongness committed by fast fashion brands is conveniently brushed aside. The whole fast fashion vibe is so overrated and creates more harm than good. This is something that I have been highlighting for sometime and yes I shall bring an update micro-blog blast in the current situation, the noise surrounding fast fashion brands. For now the reigns have been sold and Karen Millen says goodbye to her brand and I can only imagine she must feel shi**ie about it.. surely!!

Hey….so much appreciation to you for reading my brands behaviour fashion micro~blog…. There’s great love here for you always ~ follow, comment or whatever you feel you want to do I just want to say Thank You

A pair of 1972 Nike Trainers at Sotheby’s “with bids starting at £150k”

“Iconic” Moon Shoe by Nike

Investing is always changing especially recently the stock market has experienced a stampede of ‘unusual investors’ for instance people like you and I who might know very little of how the stock market monopoly operates, but intrigued and interested in improving oneself financially.

You would have never guessed that possibly for the last four or more years, some people are moving the main attention from property investments into fashion. Wait…. the word “some” which is a vague description but the exact percentage has yet to surface and as soon as it does I shall be one of the first to bring the data to the ta{y}ble. The point I am throwing light on is for instance an apartment or house is not easy to come by for some right now so instead a sneaker investment makes sense —> right?!

This pair of Nike’s 1972 ‘Moon Shoe’ trainers smashed the record & sold for £345,000

Worn.. Torn.. Vintage.. Unused.. call it what you may but the value lays within a combination of authentication of rarefaction, rather than condition in most cases, and “unused” of course holds the top spot when a valuation is given. Which has proven to be argued in so many cases for instance with the ‘Moon Shoe’ which started the bidding at £150k and sold for a record breaking £345k.

Get a grip with the value because Sotheby’s ⚠️WARNING⚠️
sale is final & cannot be returned

‘Moon Shoe’ brief history

Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, who was also an American athletics track coach, came up with the idea for a studded sole by using his wife’s waffle maker. Imagine how many times he attempted this and the amount off waffle machines he used. Sadly he was exposed to intense amounts of chemicals fumes whilst carrying out the experiments to create a running shoe sole and his determination never stopped his efforts to achieve what he dreamed of—the running shoe with a sole that gripped the ground. Sadly with little if any face protection the fumes quite possibly could have caused him health issues (not fully known) prior to his death. It was a remarkable invention that Bill discovered by pouring the rubber liquid into the waffle machine and allowing it to set, what it formed was the perfect studs that he could use for a running shoe sole. He carried out numerous tests with the waffle maker until he nailed the final prototype for the creation of a shoe that would provide enough track grip. Of course it was not just the sole Bill was concerned with at the time of designing the grip sole he gave thoughts equally to comfort, and support for athletes, which undoubtedly at that time played a significant role in the unfamiliar territory of running shoes with grips.

A well cushioned support would also be needed to withstand the traction from the studded sole, and equally an upper layer which was handmade acted as the shell for the finishing touch. Apparently the name “Moon Shoe” derived from the waffle molds print left on the ground and on the moon left by astronauts back in the late 60s.

The Nike “Moon Shoe” was a historic innovation for the brand and only a few pairs in existence, hence the extraordinary value that they hold in the present day. Nike really are holding the top position in the works of athletics, and are continuing to make history with the revival of classics, and a stampede of regular new designs that are immediately sold-out upon launching. Many are all holding their price and fast becoming a valuable asset to the ever growing Nike Tribes of all ages across the globe. Unbeknown to many is that currently your closet, wardrobe, loft, cellar, even under the staircase cupboards could be a “sneaker treasure chest”.

Pretty Ugly? Balenciaga brings next level beauty to the feet 👣

The Spanish luxury brand Balenciaga really unleashed the beast when they featured the ‘ToeShoe’ back in Oc{toe}ber at Paris Fashion Week 2020.

Photo shout: Fast Company via Estrop/Getty Images

Some might say that this is somewhat an usual collaboration for a luxury brand, but the obvious avenues of celebrity~collabs~endorsers, are truly feeling worn out now and hopefully sliding into a thing of the past. Surely brands that decide to step out of the box to become the box should be applauded so take a bow~now Balenciaga, for the creative team really have dug deep here by teaming up with Vibram.

“It is all about Soles“ says VIBRAM

An Italian next level footwear brand with a remarkable founder Vitale Bramani an extraordinary hugely talented mountaineer, who basically wanted to make climbing easier on the feet. He designed and patented the Carrarmato sole in 1937, and since then his designs have evolved into running shoes uniquely created and undeniably resembling the ‘barefoot’ by heavily emphasising the ‘human toes’. As featured on their website https://eu.vibram.com Vibram developed ‘FiveFingers’, a foot glove, a true “second skin”, revolutionizing the concept of walking barefoot and voted by Time Magazine as one of the “Best Invention of 2007”.

Photo shout: Balenciaga

Visually not sophisticated fashion but definitely a connection to the prehistoric times when man walked barefoot and feet coverings seized to exist.

Taking us back to our ‘soles’ could be a good thing and quite possibly the message through creativity reads: ‘ugly is still beautiful’ which of course is in full-agreement by many. I would say the need would be to add: raised areas for the corns on the toes and truly take us to the raw reality of human feet, and throw in extra cushioning for that hard skin on the heel, what a winner.

Photo Shout: Balenciaga

Creative Director Demna Gvasalia, heads up the Spanish design house Balenciaga https://www.balenciaga.com/gb and what they’ve done is elevated the ‘Toe Shoe’ by basically throwing a heel on the sock~sneaker, and now we have booties too. Those couple goals can easily be met: for he can wear the sneakers and she can wear the heels —- actually let’s swap: men can wear heels too and of course females have long been running alongside males in the sneaker game and I think they’re not actually…. In other words we can of course wear what we want to that’s not my point so stay calm on the comments please {be kind yeah}. Personally the cost is heavy £1.1k {approx} per pair with heel or sneaker style, which is way over my budget and I don’t know if looking like an animal or creature on my feet does anything for me — apparently guys are going wild for them. We all love nature but does this mean that the lizard~Iguana look is here to stay? Furthermore, some have already taken the plunge like Rihanna, yes she did it and shot the heel sock — got to say she could make a reel of thread look stylish {love her vibe}.

⚜️

Look out humans you might possibly see feet like these down the aisle in Waitrose, or on the tube, sitting right opposite you.. just don’t panic it’s fine after all we are only human.

Photo Shouts: Balenciaga

⚜️

What’s your thoughts—leave me a comment be honest.. For me, the toes just make me want to drag out a palette of polishes and start painting them {giggle} and on that note I shall not be investing.
