Veja 🖤 Veja setting the precedent in “Vegan Fashion”

🌱

One of my favourite brands and yes for the record I wear their trainers/sneakers and I am currently growing my collection because I believe that I should at least give my feet some pleasure after all they ferry me around all day and night, and I love heels so ‘freedom for my feet’ allowing comfort in a clean, Eco-friendly and of course fashionable way came naturally when I met www.veja-store which I love so much because they use everything without causing any harm to our beautiful environment.

🌱

Vegan Fashion —>it is insane but sadly true that fashion brands are misbehaving discretely but we are watching them though, as they announce and adopt garments, footwear labelled #vegan loudly as made in the ‘Vegan’ way which does attract a caring consumer. But what does this mean? In a nutshell the definition is: ‘Cruelty Free’ and ‘Environmentally Friendly’ which is a good thing right? Do not answer that as we all know that it clearly can only be a good thing.

A variety of retailers ‘household’ names for instance —>just too name a few: •M&S •Topshop •New-look have adopted and let’s say playing with the valuable category named VEGAN FASHION because of the huge demand of course why else…. Maybe I am being a little harsh as their rationale could be legitimate and I shall be researching this further with a nice email too them all asking the ?question? that is on the tip of our tongues—>WHY? in the most polite way possible please brands elaborate..

🌱

VEJA —> have set the game straight by launching 100% Cruelty Free Guidelines—> take a bow https://www.veja-store.com for setting this precedent and ensuring that Vegan Fashion is really 100% cruelty free as the demand #veganfashion is growing at a phenomenal rate—>which is a good thing right?!

Go check www.veja-store.com out and treat your feet too freedom —> you might be lucky as the Sale is still on and I hope to have a discount code soon so you can shop on Tay that’s me..

Louis Vuitton the French Fashion House expanding & “brings style too food”

LV café and restaurant in Osaka Japan

Louis Vuitton is bringing food too the table in the most stylish way. Just a few days ago {1st February to be precise} the fancy French fashion maison opened up a restaurant and café in Osaka Japan.

Launching on floors above the store are Le Café V and then a more intimate setting for dinner at Sugalabo V. I can only imagine the waiting list for evening reservations is already booked up and they are possibly taking bookings for 2021.

Doors open to dine at Sugalabo V at dinner time

And it doesn’t end there. Featuring a cocktail bar {above photo} and outdoor terrace for the ultimate chic soirées, and of course with blinding decor and mouth watering dishes.

The Terrace

Now the time too drop your jaws even more —> the famous chef chosen to head up this culinary concept is the one and only Yosuke Suga, go do your research it will be worth it but for those who just want too know now: he wore his apron with the master the 32-Michelin star- I had no idea of his wealth of achievements — how many stars {tongue roll} Joël Robuchon.

This attractive place to be has been created with an essence of secrecy, and is believed to be hidden {not anymore}, and boasts an open kitchen —> teasing taste buds with the aromas bursting from the room of preparation.

Louis Vuitton does not stop there…. The decor is inspired by Vuitton’s furniture and travel accessories collection. Even the plates are a creation of their own designed by another creative genius Tokujin Yoshioka —> a guarantee that one will feel as though the food will be seated on a piece of art. Mind blowing experiences seem to be assured for this will be a post shopping adventure and clearly a thought out strategy that takes shopping to another level without losing the objective of “pleasure” to the customer.

This is not the first time a fashion house has delved into another industry, that has nothing to do with fashion, for instance: Saks 5th Avenue with L’Avenue. Nordstrom opened a restaurant called Wolf. Tiffany {now owned by LV} opened Blue Box Café back in 2017.

Some, mainly foodies/chefs anyone connected to the industry, will argue that food is art and dishes are creations therefore justification of fashion brands collaborations with the culinary world should never be questioned. I totally agree, but others I have exchanged words with have expressed their own views: Why? Are they being greedy? Have they lost their minds? Is this how entrepreneurs roll? Business is business!!

Honestly who cares —> I am just wondering how far will this expand too? I anticipate that this trial-model will answer that question and how cool would it be in London, amongst other amazing cities. In the meantime I am adding Japan 🇯🇵 too my list of countries too visit and undoubtedly I am heading to Louis Vuitton to shop, eat, hangout and who knows I possibly could bag myself some romance in the form of a gentleman —> currently dating my desires and in love with my career journey, my fashion law blog and the stock building for my luxury garments resell fashion business: called WOO+ yes it is happening “Worn Only Once+” will be launching 2020 and pop-ups too —> excited and happy to be protecting the environment and pushing for us all to get the most out of our wardrobes.. Lookout for my post on this SOON because the concept is the way forward for Fashion Passion People —> like me..

Pretty Ugly Fashion News

KNOCK OFFS or FAST FASHION?

“Is this a question with a blatant answer”

Pretty Little Thing — aka PLT are yet again causing a not so pretty~scene in their Fast Fashion Feast or should I say Fiascos.. What have they done now with their non-stop steals of yet another designers concept and manipulating it well let’s just say they “just used the identical idea of another’s” and blazed it across as many items that they could possibly mass produce.. Honestly it’s cool co-creating even using an idea to mould your own, but this is liberty-taking at it’s finest (uncontrollably giggling right now mixed with fierce eye rolls) next level if that even exists to Fast Fashion Brands..

Threading the needle —>what’s happened?

Wait a minute let’s establish some facts here — using a designers name on a garment is different from using their idea? PLT surprisingly (not really) decided to make garments using the concept of “newspaper print” on textiles for a range of womenswear (see photos). So they took the idea and used newspaper print on fabric (Galliano dropped this decades ago) but that ain’t breaking any fashion law — what they did was used gallantly Galliano’s name on the print.. Now that is where they dropped a stitch and overstepped the mark.. To add insult too injury did they really believe that this would have gone unnoticed? Ohhhh yes they did until a well known YouTuber photographed and dropped on her instagram tagging PLT as the source.. Take a bow influencers—->the unnoticed has now been noticed..

⚖️ Lawsuit or not?

Causing major confusion or not? Of course this will as I’m pretty sure Galliano did not and would he ever collaborate with PLT? I wouldn’t even dare ask that wild question..

Galliano who was the mastermind at Dior until he made a comment —- “loose-lips sinks ships”’at the fashion house for his remarks (we won’t go there today—I’m sure the fashion world hasn’t fully buried the memory of that slip of the tongue->ratchet) made. But could he have an infringement claim against PLT ? For daring {eye roll ~ they dared} and using his name without permission..

⚖️ Let us unpick this

Of course the one and only Galliano -> yes he can —-> is there such a principal.. I mean on the grounds of “confusion”.. Opening up the seams slightly: This means that he could likely make successful infringement claims against PLT for using the name if his legal team can establish a likelihood of confusion, namely, that consumers are likely to be confused about the source of the PLT garments —> easily done.. Or was Galliano involved in the creation ?! Let’s not even go there its like oil and water !!

In PLT’s defense this can easily allow them to slide in with an argument of “we used his name to decorate the garments” whoops we did it again and got excited and this was never a trademark -> to identify the source of usage, come on now it was merely used as decoration.. They can get away with it if their legal team are seriously on-point, and are ‘game strong’ in the area of “we didn’t mean too”. In other words it looks like a pretty little thing have masterminded an amazing escape {eyes rolling off the page}..

In the United Kingdom, protection comes by way of the “passing off,” a cause of action that prohibits the use of another’s name or image on a product or service in a way that is likely to mislead the consuming public into believing that the individual authorized or approved such use.

Dropping a celebrity’s face/name/image on merchandise without them knowing or let’s say “permission” is not an infringement of their rights —> not by UK law anyway..

And this is why I adore law —> in a stylish way of course #FashionLaw I am so sassy in my lawyer mode and let me know your thoughts by leaving me a comment “come co~create” with Tay —> that’s me.

NIKE is changing the game & backing “Legislation” in the USA—can they ‘Just Do It’

FIGHTING Against the Import of Design Patent-Infringing Goods —> Nike is fuelling the fire for Counterfeit Goods Seizure Act of 2019.

Setting the precedent for the future of Fashion brands and punishing brands behaving badly?

A question that designers have long asked governments —> take a stand and step-up the game…. take control of the Counterfeit market.

With FAKE items looking so good these days and people actually knowing that they are buying a piece of “fake fashion” what will this new legislation do? Who will benefit is the question? Let me answer that for you:

Designers will reap the rewards as they will no longer feel the threat of counterfeit crews swooping a slice of their profits—>that is not being greedy either.. lets face it would you want your brand or products to be copied? Some would say it’s insulting the brand, and yet others will argue that it is affordable and damn right brilliantly copied..

Predominantly the high-end-luxury-fashion Brands will applaud this hardcore move, as too the top end sports brands who are seriously feeling the crushing from counterfeiting.. Yet the middle-person “consumers” on a tight budget, wanting to feed their needs {looking good-and why not} by living out of their overdrafts in the current climate of salaries not being increased and the demands of working in the same wage yet cost of living is eating away at a lot of people. To be then subjected too high priced fashion items that are forever increasing, the counterfeit products are fast becoming acceptable..

Will other countries “cat walk” down this runway too?! Interesting.. drop me a comment I welcome your thoughts on this:

B A N K S Y takes legal action to another level —> “you shall not steal my name” so the Artist did this

When people are hungry they eat but Financial Greed from another persons plate should it be illegal?!

⚖️ Brands Behaving Badly —> I shall be advising all future clients too do this:

Let us get down to business and truly shine the light on the magnitude of one of the most Fashionable..Stylish.. epic takedowns of the century —-> “Throwing Shade” <—- possibly is not strong enough to detail the way in which the legal team advised their client B A N K S Y.

With sheer finesse the instructions used to furnish or let us say.. how to deal with the intrusion and the daylight, barefaced, no shame “robbery” of ones identity, brand, logo, life-stamp, tag, handle, or whatever you wish to call it —-> in this case it is his NAME….

DRAMA

A company that basically sells greeting cards are trying to hi-jack.. by trademark registration of the Artist’s name —> clearly too sell his works and profit from everything he has previously created and all future creations.

FACT

It is not a crime and sadly this type of:

“I shall take what is yours and make money from it” is nothing new, and unfortunately has a track record older than us all. Hence the world of intellectual property: trademark, copyright, patent, and more.. these are my areas of law I specialise in and I shall delve into more detail as my blog takes shape and grows..

Changed the GAME

What would be the action to take? It is unimaginable too say the least but sadly it is nothing new in Civil Litigation, companies are consistently misbehaving and so many actually get away with it.. Not today though !!

So how can this be.. you are all saying to yourselves —> it can be especially if you become a sensation overtime and not even in your wildest would you ever believe that people will steal, or take what you have created with possibly good intentions i.e. allow others access too your products/items/creations, and I have never heard that anyone has created a company to sell another person’s creations because they just wanted too.. No way —> it is so rare that I cannot actually find a record on it, and please do not mention charity events as you have slipped off the narrative slightly so here’s my hand.. allow me too pull you back on..

BANKSY —-> drops this:

His legal squad advised him to open up and sell his own branded merchandise —-> all I have too say is “take a bow” legal team, and a round of applause —> what a response.. A lateral lash and approach to take legal custody of your own s*** and never ever let someone take what belongs too you.. What really does it for me is this:

VERDICT->Banksy Style

Gross Domestic Product —> solutions for wealth

Showroom In Croydon London banksy.co.uk

The shop is a showroom whose doors never open….

Opens online to the public to shop….

What really does it for me are these factors:

Prices star from £10 ->

The materials are recycled as much as possible ->

Made in U.K. ->

CONCLUSION :

there is not one…. you know as well as I know that there will be more too come from this “mind blowing—>thought provoking Artist” who just happens to be from the 20th & 21st century too.. banksy.co.uk

I had too take a break during writing this as I just needed to absorb and applaud the legal counsel here.. This gives me full affirmation that my combined passion for fashion and civil practices-litigation, is truly an attraction being delivered in its fill manifested form and I am in full receptive mode —> much appreciation too my BadAss Vortex.. Off—-White are they switching their logo ? is there more too this re-Branding move?

Eyes too the left for the New & cut your Eyes too the right for the Original

What say we at the ta{y}ble:

Who knows why and honestly who actually cares —> I like it because it says the word Off and we all know how many times we can prefix this badass word #off never mind suffix it.. So has it won me over ?! please ——->Off<——

Brands Misbehaving ⚖️

I have been trying too find through my masses of notes and my journals a piece I wrote I am sure it was back in 2018 that a streetwear brand {might have that slightly incorrect-could be an unknown brand} had claimed #offwhite alleged #brandsbehavingbadly that Off—-White had used their logo, or parts of their logo #circles #arrows shapes, to form the brand’s visual representation -—> in other words their own logo.. Which we all know to be the trendy AF off->the->chain brand that is creating flames in womenswear, menswear, even the world of furniture #ikea has had the pleasure of feeling the vibration that Off-—White is bringing..

None Of Your Business —-> UPDATE on this to follow

I really need to do some searching through my archives and also check the Cases.. is there a Lawsuit on this ?! Was there ?! I am pretty sure something happened..

The Ta{y}ble is set so please leave a comment and it is our business too know because we love the brand, Fashion News, and the hidden world of Brands Behaviour is what I bring to you all..

Can ADIDAS stop other brands from registering // Stripes — Japan said “No”

adidas’ 3-stripe mark {below logo}

Marubeni’s 2-stripe mark {top logo}

Can ADIDAS stop other brands from registering // Stripes — Japan said “No”

What’s the ISSUE:

This battle of the Stripes // has been ongoing since April 2018 — until August 2019 the national intellectual property division of the Japan Patent Office {JPO} slammed the attempt made by Adidas to disprove Marubeni Footwear’s 2—stripe // diagonal registration.

Who’s misbehaving:

Adidas have they lost their minds by stripping brands of their stripes?

or

Marubeni Footwear

is the Tokyo footwear brand taking liberties or being clever m? by the use of 2–stripes // to form their logo embellished across all their products.

The Law {in Japan}:

Adidas cannot prevent others from registering 2-stripe trademarks or anymore than their infamous 3 stripes —> well not in Japan anyway !!

Verdict:

Siding with Marubeni on August 30, the JPO’s Opposition Board determined that while there is a “high degree of reputation and popularity” associated with the German Brand Adidas3-stripe trademarks in connection with footwear and sportswear, an average consumer is not likely to mistake two stripes for three stripes in purchasing shoes.

JPO’s Board was unpersuaded, deciding that the Marubeni’s mark does, in fact, only consist of two stripes and the space in-between is not relevant. The Opposition Board dismissed Adidas’ invalidation proceedings and held that Marubeni’s registration shall remain valid.

Well the Japanese are not having any of the ‘stripe control’ do you agree ?? Put your comments on the ta{y}ble and let me feel what your feelings are.. Show me your STRIPES
